Should I paste a whole URL into the URL encoder?
This tool encodes one URL component, such as a query parameter value. Encoding an entire URL would also escape its separators.
Why are spaces encoded as percent signs instead of plus signs?
The output uses component encoding, where a space becomes percent-encoded. HTML form encoding uses a different plus-sign convention.
