Will the JSON formatter fix an invalid document?
It formats JSON that already parses. If the input has a syntax error, correct the JSON first; formatting cannot infer missing commas or quotes.
Does JSON formatting preserve comments and duplicate keys?
No. JSON does not include comments, and parsing can collapse duplicate object keys. Review the result before replacing a configuration file.
