What does this PDF signature checker verify?
For a supported detached CMS signature, it checks whether the signed bytes match the embedded signature and whether additional bytes follow the signed revision. It can also report an unsupported format.
Does a matching signature prove who signed the PDF?
No. Certificate trust, signer identity, revocation, timestamps, and permission for later changes are not checked. Verify those separately before relying on a document.
Will a handwritten or typed signature appear in the report?
Only an embedded cryptographic PDF signature is detected. A drawn mark or typed name on the page may look like a signature but has no digital signature to check.
