Awaiting release

These appearance controls are awaiting release and may not be available in your installed version yet.

Open Settings → Appearance to personalize your workspace.

Choose a theme and mode

New installations start with the Matrix theme in Light mode, independently of your device's appearance. Choose Light, Dark, or System; System follows your device. Every theme preset offers light and dark variants.

Updating keeps supported saved choices. Older presets that are no longer offered fall back to Matrix while keeping the saved mode.

Choose fonts

Select an Interface font for the workspace and a Code font for app editors. Choosing another preset in the theme picker keeps these font choices. Terminal windows retain their separate appearance settings.

Create a custom theme

  1. Select Create custom theme and choose a base preset.
  2. Use Edit light and Edit dark to set each version's background, panels, text, buttons, and borders.
  3. Check the preview, then select Save custom theme.

Matrix adjusts text colors for readability. Your custom theme stays available when you try other presets.

Reset light colors or Reset dark colors restores that version's base colors in the editor. Select Save custom theme to apply the reset; the other version stays unchanged.

Wait for an appearance save to finish before making another selection. If a save fails, your color draft stays in the editor so you can retry.

Supported views

Web Canvas, Web Desktop, Electron Desktop, and Web Mobile share these controls. Native Mobile continues to use its platform appearance controls; the font and custom-color controls described here are outside that update.
