Agentic coding · proposed

From an idea to a tool you understand.

Build a small internal app with AI, and learn enough about the work underneath to ask better questions and check the result.

A useful place
to begin.

Who it’s for

Product-minded professionals and aspiring builders who want to work more confidently with coding agents.

Before you begin

No advanced programming assumed. This path introduces a terminal, Git and basic web app concepts.

What you’ll work towards

A small app, a set of behavioral checks and a plain-language explanation of its limits.

The proposed path

Learn it.
Then try it.

  1. 01

    Describe the smallest useful app

Write a short specification with real examples, a clear user and boundaries that keep the first version manageable.

  2. 02

    Work with a coding agent

Understand files, a terminal and a development server. Make one change at a time and inspect what changed.

  3. 03

    Review and test

Try the important user journeys and failure cases. Check the agent’s claims against the running app.

  4. 04

    Understand the handover

Learn environment variables, deployment and access basics. Keep secrets out of code and document what still needs review.

An example of the work

Something you can inspect.

Create a lightweight project handover tracker using fictional projects. Add, edit and filter handovers, test empty and invalid inputs, then explain how the app stores information.

An illustrative exercise from the proposed learning path.

A little more
before you start.

Will I become a software engineer?

This path aims to help you build and inspect a small tool. It does not replace deeper engineering experience or review for a sensitive production application.

Is the learning environment ready?

Matrix is the intended workspace. The Academy learning runtime and path are still being developed; access details and optional costs will be explained before launch.

Help shape your learning path.
